Learn to Use the Plan Integration for Resilience Scorecard
This course brings to life the existing written Plan Integration for Resilience Scorecard (PIRS) guidebook through interactive eLearning modules. The course is designed for planners and allied professionals that are helping to build community resilience.
The scorecard is a method for analyzing the suite of local plans a community might use to uncover inconsistencies between plans as they relate to local climate and hazard resilience. The Scorecard highlights areas that need to be addressed to ensure that all plans are working together to improve local resilience.
After completing all modules within this course, you will be able to effectively collaborate across local agencies and departments to collect and evaluate local plans and their impacts on community resilience. The use of the scorecard tool assigns scores to spatially assess the impacts of policies on community resilience. Using these assessments to uncover inconsistencies between the plans and policies to help build cohesion for an improved long term resiliency outcome.
This course is provided through a grant-funded project between the American Planning Association and the Department of Health and Human Services. The Authors of the PIRS guidebook collaborated with APA to create an interactive course aimed for planners and their multi-disciplinary teams to effectively use the Scorecard.
